Sunday Worship at 8:00AM & 9:30AM

Kids Time: During the 9:30AM Service

Saint John's is Handicap accessible.

You’ll know when you visit you’ve found something unusual. When you sit in a pew here you're not just a passive receiver; you're a full participant in the liturgy. Worship is the work of the people, and at Saint John, we understand that our worship is a holy work we create with God and with each other. Our services are carefully planned, and, we hope, engage you in an experience that stays with you all week.
But it's more than worship. It is our unique community that makes us worth the visit and for many, what calls them to stay. We've been here on State Street since our founding in 1882. We've stayed with our neighborhood--and with our neighbors--through many changes over the years. We hear our call to remain in this place and serve God's people here.
Please accept our invitation to worship with us each Sunday at 8:00 and 9:30 AM . Stay for Breakfast or just a coffee after the service, and join us for education hour at 10:30AM; there's Sunday Church School for the young and Adult Conversation for everyone else.  Get to know us. We want to get to know you!

*Our Mission*

Rooted in word and sacrament and Growing In Faith Together, we as the body of Christ seek to immerse ourselves in relationships and practices that develop disciples who will reach out to all people, care for creation and grow in the knowledge that God is always at work in each life.

*Our Worship*

The worship of God is at the very heart of our life together at Saint John's Church. By definition, worship is the act of offering adoration, praise, and thanksgiving in recognition of God's holiness and in response to what God has done, continues to do, and promises to do for his people and for all creation. Worship is an expression of all we believe in and do, reflects God's love for us, and glorifies God's holy name. In worship we encounter God as we join to celebrate the sacraments through water, bread and wine.
No matter what other activities the Church may engage in, public worship is essential to its life and mission. At Saint John's our liturgical worship follows the traditional and ancient Christian order. However, our worship is modern in style. First time worshipers find our worship booklets easy to follow and our people welcoming and helpful. When you visit us at Saint John's you will often find many candles, artwork, various assistants in our celebration of the liturgy, and children participating in worship -- for "liturgy" is the work of the people. But, no matter what the form of our worship, it is always Gospel centered, focusing on the redeeming life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Come and see!
